Are there any upfront recruiting or contractual costs?

No, there are not. If you choose to hire a CoDev expert, you only pay for the cost of the expert’s time.

How is the trial period no-risk?

For the first two weeks, if you’re dissatisfied with CoDev, you can request a full refund of any costs paid for the expert’s time.

What happens if I’m not satisfied with a CoDev expert?

You can change your employee for a new one anytime, at no cost.

How is CoDev different from a marketplace?

When CoDev hires an employee for a partner, they become full-time employees of our company. If a partner no longer requires the employee’s services at no fault of the employee, we continue to pay and provide benefits to the employee while we reskill them for a new engagement. This ensures that CoDev retains top talent and quickly meets partner talent needs.

We also continuously measure the contributions of CoDev employees to our partners using third-party tools. If an employee is coming against technical hurdles, our customer success team will engage our partners to help develop a plan to overcome those hurdles. If an employee requires new skills, these tools identify that obstacle, and we provide the employee with resources to acquire those skills.

CoDev also provides secured machines to each employee, in-country supervision, and 24/7 IT support to ensure they are always productive on the client’s behalf.

How is hiring a CoDev expert different from hiring a freelancer?

With CoDev, we recruit a developer for YOUR team. They are not working on other projects or looking for their next opportunity. You have an ongoing relationship with your team member ensuring questions about the product, continuity between releases and coding style is consistent. This is a key differentiator with CoDev vs. other types of services; you are a partner, not a project.

Testing & Screening

Are English skills ever an issue when working with a CoDev expert?
For most CoDev employees, English is their first language. In fact, the Philippines has the third-highest English literacy rate in the world. All employees are tested in the areas of fluency, grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary and comprehension for English-language proficiency using TrueNorth, a third-party validation service. Employees who do not meet a high testing threshold are not hired.
How does your screening process ensure quality candidates that meet our requirements?

CoDev caters the sourcing and screening process based on your specific skills needed. We vet all candidates using customzied 3rd party coding assessments provided by Codility. Our candidates are rigorously screened via internal interviews to ensure that only the very best candidates are endorsed to you.


Where are your experts located?

CoDev employees are primarily located in the Philippines, India, and Latin America.

Where do CoDev experts work?

CoDev has office locations throughout these countries and these are available toemployees at all times for redundancy purposes. These spaces are also available to your team members to help with coaching and development. Employees often work from home with your approval and provided they are shown to have fast, reliable internet connections using a third-party validation service.

What about time zone overlap?

We have multiple shifts available providing for morning, afternoon, or even full coverage on your hours. This means that no matter your work schedule, we make it possible for you to be able to connect with your offshore team at the same time every day.

Can I visit my CoDev experts or bring them on-site?

We welcome and encourage our customes to visit their teams on-site any time. Face-to-face time goes a long way! We can assist in providing information about travel, accomodations, itinerary for team building activities, etc.

In practice, there have only been a few instances where clients have felt it necessary to bring a CoDev expert physically on-site. If this is a requirement, we can work with you to coordinate relocating an individual or team to your location for a specified time.

Network & Services

If there isn’t any resource currently available to fulfill the requirements of my request, how long could I expect to wait to work with a new candidate?
It takes us one to two weeks to locate, fully screen, and work with every expert before we feel confident enough to admit them to our network and introduce them to a customer. We understand your need for expediency, but we also understand the even greater need for quality. At CoDev, even if we have an extremely promising prospective candidate, we will only place them once we are 100% confident in their ability.
What happens if a CoDev expert is unavailable for the days or times they are scheduled to work with me?

CoDev goes to every possible length to ensure that this doesn’t happen. At CoDev, we understand dependability is of the utmost importance. We ensure that availability and reliability are a top priority for our experts. However, CoDev will credit back the time billed to the client if such a situation arises.

Do you offer screening, vetting, and testing services to help us hire employees outside the CoDev network?

We currently do not provide these services, but we may provide these in the future.

Intellectual Property

Who owns the legal rights to the work created by a CoDev expert?

The customer. Codev’s only business is providing world-class experts to the clients who want to work with them – not intellectual property. If you have any questions or concerns about this policy, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

How do we ensure that our IP is protected?

All employees sign an employment agreement that assigns ownership rights to property that they develop to CoDev.

Pricing & Payment

How often will I be charged? How are payments and invoices handled?

We invoice our customers monthly. The flat monthly fee is the only charge our customers pay. CoDev covers all costs for your expert including payroll, taxes, retention bonuses, benefits, utility stipend, HR/IT support, and all other costs. CoDev does not charge any setup fee. Payments are due within the month that services are rendered.. Invoices are generated and sent 15 days before the due date, so our clients can review the upcoming service fees before processing a payment.

What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards, ACH, checks, and bank wires.
